2001 on- Artistic Director, choreographer and composer of

The Singdancing Company. Ashland, OR.

 

2007      Performed singdance “The Lone Wild Bird” with Terra Nova Consort member David Rogers on guitar, for his faculty concert, Jan. 28, Southern Oregon University music recital hall, Ashland, OR.

              

2006       Performed singdance on trapeze “Emerging Light,” choreographed by Peg Paver; composed as vocal quartet by V. Nowitzky. Also in trapeze quartet “Upward” and Icelandic folk song “Hyldu Ísar”.  Sun Standing Still, Winter Solstice Concert, Dancing People Company, Dec. 21 & 22, Ashland, OR.                                                             

 

2006       Performed “The Creek” singdance solo eight evenings in a row to raise awareness about protecting  

                Ashland’s watershed. Lithia Park, Ashland, OR.       

 

2006       Performed “The Creek” solo and “Rosary” quintet with the Singdancing Company. Mondays in July,

               22nd annual Ballet in the Park, produced by Ballet Rogue. Butler Bandshell, Lithia Park, Ashland, OR.

 

2005       Created DVD Creekfire using solo “The Creek” in collaboration with sculptor / videographer Victoria McOmie. Shown at Ashland Public Library for Jefferson Nature Center’s Place-Based Art Projects.

                               

2001-04  with the Singdancing Company, performed singdance quintet “How Why Now” (2001), trio “Soprano Frogness” (2002), quintet “The Bee in the Garden” (2003), and trio + violin “Harpys” (2004) It’s About Dance! regional choreographers’ concert, Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater, Medford, OR.

 

2003       with the Singdancing Company, performed quintet “Whale Song”, Dance Variations, Grants Pass Performing Arts Center, Grants Pass, OR.

 

2001 on-  Solo and with the Singdancing Company, showed singdancing compositions and improvisations in various theaters for productions including Horizon Institute’s concert in the Angus Bowmer Theater, Suzee Grilley’s Open Stages, Roz Schrodt’s Pillow Concert, Eleven Minutes Max at the Dance Space, Love’s Labors and A Gift from the Heart. Ashland, OR.

 

2000       Produced concert of singdance improvisations with instrumentalists including Todd Barton, Dennis

Kambury, Tom Stamper, and singdancer Christine Williams. The Dance Space, Ashland, OR.

 

2000       Produced, conducted and performed in concert Sing the Body as singer, pianist, contortionist and singdancer. Presented selections from The Golden Key, a fairy tale by George MacDonald, adapted as chamber opera with script, lyrics and music written by Vanessa Nowitzky for harp, string quartet, choir, dancers and singdancers. California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA.

 

1999        Composed and recorded Kall, work for pipe organ, choir and soloist in classical and Icelandic folk style (kvædaskapur). Text: an Icelandic poem by Thorvaldur Thorsteinsson. A section of this piece, and of myself singing an Icelandic folk song, was broadcast on Channel One, radio station in Reykjavik, Iceland.

 

Displayed videotape Singdancing Improvisations in “Art and Biofeedback,” an exhibit for the Biofeedback Society of California, Valencia, CA.

 

1998       Composed and performed music for short film “Bone Garden” by Rebecca Grace and cartoon “Books and Toys” by Peter Ko. CalArts, Valencia, CA.

 

1994       Composed music, wrote script, performed leading role and produced readthrough/ singthrough of original musical Werewolf Blues with Cygnet Theater at the Ashland New Plays Festival, OR.

1991       Composed and taught songs for The Magician’s Nephew, in collaboration with John Mazzei and Thom Little. Directed by Michael O’Rourke, Actor’s Theater of Ashland, OR. Remounted 2004 by Anchorage Community Theater, Anchorage, Alaska.

 

1990 on Co-created a cappella duet sometimes known as Ma Cappella, with Aletha Nowitzky; composed, sang, gave concerts and made tape Immaculate Conception. Ashland, OR.

 

 

OTHER PERFORMING EXPERIENCE

 

2007      Performed singing rope act as Ariel’s Shadow in The Tempest. Director: Libby Appel. Movement director: John Sipes. Composer: Todd Barton. Singdance snippet: me. Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

 

2003-05 Performer in Rogue Opera’s school tour program. Directed by Bruce Hostetler and David MacKenzie.

2003: Hansel. 2004: The Queen of the Night. 2005: The Little Man.

Elementary and secondary schools throughout southern Oregon and northern California.

 

2004       Cousin Hebe in Rogue Opera mainstage production H.M.S. Pinafore. Directed by Richard Sheldon.

 

2002       Portrayed a leading role in romantic comedy film Love’s Biggest Idiot by Peter Quince, Miracle Productions, aired at Varsity Theater, Ashland, OR.

 

2001       Danced in Suzee Grilley’s Antibody, to music by Todd Barton. Daedalus Project, Oregon

                Shakespeare Festival, Ashland, OR.

 

2000       Performed Rapunzel in Into the Woods, and

1996       Zaneeta in The Music Man, directed by Richard Jessup. Rogue Music Theatre, Grants Pass, OR.

 

1995       Third Witch in Macbeth, San Jose Stage Company, San Jose, CA.

 

1994       Performed roles Shirley Talley in Fifth of July, and singer/ ensemble in The Two Noble Kinsmen.

1990       Performed role of Marylou in A Girl of the Limberlost. Wonderworks made-for-TV movie, PBS.
