How Why Now?

Singdancing was originally an effort to more deeply integrate music and theater, and has now become musical theater for the whole body. My work is passionately detailed, as I must even choreograph breath. I draw on the dance and music styles of modern classical and world folk to make my original vocabulary.

Through what I consider the most powerful venue-- live performance-- I strive to express the truths that I most deeply experience: that life is eternal transformation, that nature has a sublime geometry, that the body is the sacred vessel of the spirit, that through our actions we choose whether to perceive and experience the heaven which is already manifest here on earth. My work is an exploration of ecstasy, humor and healing; creating an ever- renewing present with an art that passes through us and vanishes.

The small, culturally vibrant town of Ashland, Oregon has been my home since 1984, and now I am here to stay, immersed in veriditas-- the greening power of nature. I travel the world when invited. If you would like to see dancing melody, expressing the joyful innocence of the heart of the child and the rich complexity of the mind of the adult, you could invite me to come perform, teach a class or lead a workshop! Email me to request a booking or get info on upcoming performances. If you would like to express your appreciation for my work in a material way, send donations to: 725 Terra #33D, Ashland, OR 97520. April 2005.
